Thank goodness the weather is finally warming up! Just in time for summer and plenty of outdoor living. A client recently asked me to style her screened-in back porch. They already had the furniture but they wanted to cozy it up so it was a spot she and her family could enjoy and also entertain in.
Here is the space when we started - a blank slate but with great furniture:
My client opted to not do a rug in the space so we relied on the other accessories to bring in color and warmth.
Here is the space when I finished:
I found some great outdoor pillows to offer some punches of color. And the lamps I found were a killer HomeGoods score. I loved the additional texture they brought into the space but also that stylish acrylic base.
My client loves candles maybe even more than me so I made sure there were plenty of opportunities for her to amp up the coziness even more after dark.
And while there are some pops of color, texture reigns supreme in the space from the lamps, pillows, trays, candle holders, and lamps!
And plants, plants and more plants also help make the space feel so much more lived in and welcoming. I know I preach it all the time but it is SO true.
The best part of the whole gig was a video my client sent me afterwards of her adorable kiddos eating supper on the porch and watching them demonstrate to me their favorite additions to the space. That's what it is all about to me at the end of the day - helping people love their homes in a functional, livable way.
