The holidays are over and after several days of rain the winter blah's are setting in. Time to think about spring, summer and sunnier, warmer days! My client's spent New Year's at their beach house and I was excited to get some photo updates of the living room now that the rugs arrived and have been laid out. I'm really pleased about how the space is shaping up and for a very reasonable budget.
You may remember I blogged about our plans for the space a while back. And while the space isn't exactly like the moodboard (below) I put together, I'd still say its a major transformation!
My clients already had living room furniture that they wanted to try to incorporate in the space. The problem was that it was heavy red leather furniture that didn't really jive with the coastal, casual, family-friendly beach living room they were after:
I found some washable, casual and very affordable fabric at Premier Prints and my friend Gina Roberts, aka the miracle worker, custom slip covered the furniture and now it is hardly recognizable! It's completely custom to the shape of each piece yet it is all removable and washable! Perfect for the beach and a family with young kids!
I sourced some great pillows from Etsy, found an inexpensive natural fiber rug (RugsUSA) and a vintage coffee table (from Union Camp Collective) and things are looking dramatically different now!
The rattan fishbone mirror is another one of my favorite parts of the room. I found it at Wisteria.
We had several good & super thrifty finds for these shelves including two coral pieces that we scored from the lovely Ashlyn Goldberg for $20 total, a couple of HomeGoods accessories and some vintage milk glass.
I have been helping my clients at their full-time home as well and they had these stunning lamps in their master bedroom at home. When we changed some things up in there, these lamps didn't work there but I knew they'd be perfect for the beach!
Wishing you warmer and sunnier days ahead!
