Still waiting on the new light fixture but I had to share this fun update to this dining nook. We papered the ceiling in this punchy grasscloth, recovered the bench cushions in super durable and cleanable fabric and added these incredibly beautiful Roman shades to finish things off.

This was a project I worked on for clients. Funnily enough our focus was on the daughter’s room but then it started looking so cute we knew we needed to make a few updates to brother’s to keep it even steven.

Updates we made: fresh paint, wallpaper on the ceiling, new light fixture and lamps, new hardware on existing dresser and new desk and chair and my favorite part of the room was the transformation of the existing bunk beds with paint. Swipe to see the change!

These fun custom dining chairs are not lacking in personality! My client inherited dark wood traditional furniture from her family so we lightened and modernized the very traditional pieces by mixing in two of these chairs and a custom built lacquered banquette made by @rail_and_stile with modern hardware. It’s such a great mix!

We outfitted this under utilized space with a built-in banquette that will eventually have a table and chairs with it for dining, snacking, game playing, etc. My carpenter built the base and then my upholsterer came in to do the bench seat and back. 🤎

Not a baby anymore but my little guy Taco turns 5 tomorrow. 😭 This will be his big kindergarten year this fall. I feel like they grow up so, so much that year that they start school, gain independence and learn to read. All awesome things of course but still makes me miss my babies. So if you see me blubbering in August, you’ll know why. And I’ll probably cry some tomorrow too for good measure. 💙

A client had this couch (swipe to see the before) but the bench seat and bottom of couch were sagging in the middle due to lack of support from the long bench seat and so we opted to change the cushions to a 3 seater, added an additional center leg for support underneath and did a fun fabric with a deep teal contrast cord. I never knew how much I would love a purple couch!

The kids and I were listening to Megan Trainer’s All About That Base the other day and it’s still in my head so when I say I’m “All About That Mix” please imagine I’m singing it to that song (except you are spared my terrible singing voice). For me, the mix is high/low, old/new, and mixing styles, patterns and color. This room really hit all those notes for me. So much of this space is custom but when we decided to add a console table with lamps (cordless and rechargeable so no cords!) to better divide the living room from the kitchen, we needed some stools to layer under the console. I found these on Amazon for like $60 each. I figured if they were bad once they arrived we could easily return them. But, they arrived assembled and are were so sturdy. We recovered the seats in a fabric to coordinate with the rest of the space and voila - custom-look for less!

My kiddos are heading back to school tomorrow on a 2 hour delay. They figured out they will only have school for a whopping 4.5 hours this week when all is said and done. Oh to be a kid again! Me making it to Friday tomorrow is definitely going to be cause for celebration and these clients are all ready to celebrate and entertain with their new lovely Butler’s pantry.
